Here at Bettenay’s Margaret River, we’re proud producers of premium wines and luxuriously soft and creamy nougat. We’ve been doing it since owners Greg and Terri Bettenay purchased a picturesque plot of land deep in the heart of the Margaret River region in 1989. In the years since, the business has grown into a whole family affair.
While Greg – the jack-of-all-trades – remains busy in the vineyard, winery and cellar door, his wife Terri manages the estate’s accommodation options, and their daughter Danica is steering the nougat ship as Production Manager.

We’re extremely passionate about quality confectionary. Greg took inspiration to produce creamy nougat from his love of all things French, and our secret family recipe is based on the soft French-style, made famous in the city of Montélimar in the 17 th century. At this point in time, nougat was a prestigious present, made for special guests and royalty of Montélimar. We still use the Law of Traditional Montélimar Nougat today: at least 50% nuts, at least 10% honey, and made with egg white to make it softer and whiter. One bite of our premium nougat and you can
see why it was once reserved for royalty!

Each bar of our nougat is lovingly handcrafted, packed with the finest fruits and nuts sourced as locally as possible. We’re constantly innovating and inventing new flavour combinations (many of them award-winners at the Royal Hobart Fine Food Awards!) and creating new tasting experiences for our customers to enjoy at our cellar door. For those who are after a big-kids-only treat, our nougat inspired liqueur comes in two delectable flavours: Honey Almond Nougaretto and Coffee
Almond Nougaretto. Those lucky enough to visit the beautiful Margaret River region will find us on the new Cowaramup drive trail, and we welcome visitors in to try our delicious products, including our one-of-a-kind wine+ nougat paired tasting experience.
