Ugly Duck turns “ugly” surplus Australian fruit and vegetables into cheeseboard-ready pastes, spreads, chutneys and relishes - made in small batches.
Behind Ugly Duck is founder Michelle Mascher. Motivated by the scale of farm-gate food waste, she began the business in 2015, drawing on her German heritage and her family’s jam-making traditions. Working directly with growers, Michelle rescues perfectly good seasonal produce that would otherwise be left behind, transforming it into preservative-free jars made to be shared at the table.
